Babymoon: 22 Weeks

Euphemistically called our "Babymoon", we took a four day getaway to the Grayson Highlands in southwest Virginia. Mama Dryden gives Baby Girl a close view of some signage, and puts her on a grueling hike on a black diamond trail.

No, we didn't make up the Babymoon thing. I couldn't get so creative if I tried. You can learn all you possibly want to know about this phenomenon in this NY Times article, Babymoon: Getting Away, While There Are Just Two of You.

22 Weeks

According to What to Expect...

Week 22 of Pregnancy: Baby's Hair Growth

Your baby has finally broken the one-pound mark. The eyelashes and eyebrows are well formed now — and even more hair is sprouting atop that cute little head. But hair at this stage of fetal development has no pigment, so it's bright white.

It's a S-H-E! 20 Weeks

Clearly a girl! Despite Kate's intuition (and dreams even!) of our baby boy, we couldn't be more excited to find out that our little "Cleta" is at t-minus four months. Precious indeed!

When describing Baby Girl's size, the fruit metaphors continue. Cantaloupe. Small cantaloupe, to be precise. The photos suggest she's all skin and bones. Time to start building the baby fat.

Oh, oh we're half way there.

19 Weeks

One week until we go in for the ultrasound and find out the flavor of this baby baking in Kate's womb. For those feeling the need to vote, it's split down the middle between boy and girl. Kate still thinks we're having a boy. Paul refuses to take a stand.

According to "What to Expect", at 19 weeks the baby is six inches long and eight ounces of weight...about the size of a large mango. (Why not a super-large muscadine grape? Or a miniaturized watermelon? Paul should learn not to question these things.)
