We were able to get away for a quick trip to Ga & PapPaw's beach house this week. We typically are not in Wild Dunes in July, and it was HOT! It was such a fun stay, with hours of play in the ocean and the pool. This was also the first time we were able to go on bike rides as a family, since Hattie is now riding her big girl bike without training wheels! We always love our time at the beach and never want to leave, and we are excited to return again in August. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

2016 Vacation Bible School at First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church's theme for this year's Vacation Bible School was "Surf Shack: Riding the Wave of God's Amazing Love." As always, the songs were a hit, with both Clara and Hattie learning all of the lyrics and motions to each one. Kate volunteered in the Pre-K class and was able to witness firsthand the fun that the girls were having with their friends throughout the week. We also continued the tradition of sharing the week with the Ryan family, so that the Dryden girls played at their house after the first two days of VBS, and the Ryan kids played at our house after the last two days of VBS. The end-of-week luncheon and performance was the pinnacle of a VERY fun experience for all. We are already excited for next year's VBS!

Last Day of First Grade at Douglas Elementary
It is hard to believe that Clara is finished with her First Grade year at Douglas Elementary! It was a warm and sunny morning when Clara, Hattie, & Arrington embarked on the walk to school for the last time, and we were able to capture the moment with a few great photos (notice Hattie's classic photobomb). Several neighborhood families celebrated after school with popsicles while playing on the Douglas playground. Clara will miss Ms. Komyati and Mr. Mac, as well as her good buddies Alice, Iris, Elise, Adele, Ainsley, Mason, and Pelton. Kate will miss her weekly visits to Clara's classroom as one of the class's room moms. Another truly successful year!
