March Odds & Ends

 

Our Neighbor, Casey Murphy

 

Part of the fun of living in North Hills is running into soccer stars. So many of them live in the apartments around us. We see a lot of Casey Murphy, the starting keeper for the NC Courage and on the US Women's National Team roster. When we ran into her at Jubala this chilly morning, we had to get a picture. 

She's always very accommodating, sweet, and (we think) is genuinely thrilled to be recognized by her fans in public.

Jefferson Cup Weekend

 

Another year and another run at the Jeff Cup, a massive soccer tournament in Richmond and the surrounding communities. The ladies of NCFC made a run to the finals in their bracket, taking runner-up. And, as usual, they had tons of fun as a team along the way. 

Hattie & Tennis

 

Hattie started playing Junior Tennis this Spring with the North Hills Club. She's a natural with hand-eye coordination and has strong strokes. She tells us this is the sport she wants to focus on...

Daddy-Daughter Dance at North Hills

 

Paul & Hattie did the Daddy-Daughter dance at North Hills with our friends, the Barriers. 

We got all dressed up, taking pictures to commemorate the fanciness of the moment...

Danced to a DJ and ate as much dessert as our bellies could hold...

Davidson College Visit

 

Clara had a match near Davidson, so we decided to make a weekend out of it. Ga and Pappaw drove up to join us. We stayed at the Davidson Village Inn, toured around campus, ate in the Flat Iron building (which is relatively new) and went into Lingle Chapel to reminisce with the girls about Kate & Paul's wedding day.
