Sydney, Australia

We landed at the Sydney airport in the morning. Despite having lay flat seats, none of us got much sleep on the flight, so we were dragging.  The goal was to tough it out through the day, staying awake until the evening to try to get our clocks lined up. We were not particularly successful with that.

Sydney was incredible. We had a few days here to get used to the time changes and explore the city. July is winter, and it got chilly in the evening but was usually in the 60s or 70s during the day. (The Aussies don't get a lot of opportunities to wear coats, so there were lots of puffer jackets even in the warm sun.)

One of the highlights was climbing Sydney's famous Harbour Bridge and the great views of the water and city from its top.

True to Dryden family traveling form, we didn't try to pack in tons of sight seeing. Our approach is to fan out into the city to get a feel for it by walking, eating, and just taking in the sights. Sydney did not disappoint. It was vibrant, friendly, warm and tons of fun.
